Dear Friend,
Oh, how I've missed our Monday coffee and croissant meetups. It's been far too long since we last sat down for a glass of wine and a plate of pasta. I understand that you've said no to my last few invites because you're off pasta now, and to that I say, "Oh HONEY! I'm so sorry!" I respect your decision, of course, because it's your amazing body. I am so happy for you and the good feelz and feedback you're getting on your weight loss journey. But I couldn't resist the urge to put pen to paper. The noodles and I miss you.
I implore you to consider shifting the focus from losing weight to building muscle, and let me tell you why:
Obsessing over the scale can drive you utterly insane.
Muscle is the foundation upon which the rest of your fitness journey will stand tall. It's muscle that gives you strength, confidence, and that undeniable radiance that we all admire. Don't get me wrong; I'm not suggesting that weight loss is unimportant. I've seen you navigate life with grace and charm, and I want you to approach your fitness journey with the same finesse. When you focus on building muscle, the numbers on the scale become mere background noise, drowned out by the applause for your strength, your perseverance, and your newfound vitality.
"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim." So, my dear friend, don't be a victim of the scale. Be the heroine of your fitness journey and let building muscle be your guiding star. I cannot wait to raise a glass of wine to toast to your triumphs, both on and off the scale. Until then, keep your chin up, your glutes engaged, and remember that the story you're writing is one of strength, resilience, and unfaltering self-love.
With juicy love and endless support,
Your Plum Pal
