Making Us Laugh to the End

That was Gram, always surprising us and always making us laugh, and it's one that our family has always taken to heart - you can find the fun and funny in any situation.
My grandmother, known as Grammie or Anne (or Annie, as my grandfather called her), passed away just a few days ago. Grammie was born in 1928.  She skipped 2 grades in school ("double promoted" she called it), graduated high school and started working in Boston full time at just 15 years old.  After meeting my grandfather, Frank, (a one in a million guy for a one in a million lady) she became the mother of 7, grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 30 (plus 1 more on the way!)  She was warm, kind and extremely funny. The last time I saw Gram (in a beautiful nursing home that she didn't particularly like) she pointed at a singing, bearded man on the tv and joked with her classic wit, "That's my boyfriend. He's a nice fella." That was Gram, always surprising us and always making us laugh, and it's one that our family has always taken to heart - you can find the fun and funny in any situation.
